
. The arrest of a terrorist cell loyal to ISIS in Spain and Morocco

The competent Moroccan security authorities managed, in a joint security operation with the Spanish General Information Commission, today, Wednesday, to dismantle a terrorist cell loyal to ISIS, consisting of three elements operating in Spain and Morocco.
A statement by the Moroccan security authorities stated that the interventions they carried out resulted in the arrest of an extremist element in the Moroccan city of Chtouka Ait Baha, simultaneously with the arrest of two other members of the same terrorist cell in the Spanish city of Almeria by the Spanish authorities.
The statement indicated that the investigations showed that the extremists had pledged allegiance to ISIS, and had also promoted extremist ideology for the purpose of recruitment and polarization. .
He added that the inspection that took place in the house of the arrested extremist in the city of (Bashtoka Ait Baha) found a set of equipment and digital props that will be subjected to the necessary technical expertise, in addition to a mask and a white weapon, as well as manuscripts glorifying ISIS.
The statement indicated that the person who was arrested in Morocco was placed under guard until the completion of the investigations supervised by the Public Prosecution in charge of terrorism and extremism cases, while the competent Spanish authorities will undertake the necessary investigations with the two members of this cell who were arrested in Spain.
He pointed out that this joint security operation comes within the framework of continuous security coordination between the Moroccan security authorities and their Spanish counterparts, to eliminate all terrorist risks and threats facing the two countries, and in an effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation to dismantle the existing links between the terrorist cells that operate between the two countries.
