The American Associated Press said that Joe Biden's home in Delaware has become a focus of attention, in light of the disclosure of the existence of secret documents in places linked to the US president.
The agency stated that the president's home in Wilmington, Delaware, has become the subject of new scrutiny in light of the crisis. This house was a haven for Biden from Washington, more like an office at home, and a place where his family spent family holidays.
And the White House confirmed Thursday that secret records were found in the parking garage of Biden's home, and also in another room, which the president later said was his personal library. The disclosure came three days after the White House announced that classified material was located at the former Biden Institute in Washington. The revelations prompted US Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special investigator to oversee the matter.
This ad puts a greater spotlight on Biden's home in Wilmington, where he regularly spends weekends and where he finds more freedom and a homely atmosphere than in the White House.
And Biden had said in February 2021, days after he took office: I said during my candidacy that I want to be president, not live in the White House, but be able to make decisions about the country's future. Living in the White House, he said, is a bit like a golden lock in terms of being able to walk outside and do things.
So far, since assuming the presidency, Biden has spent 194 days, all or part of it, at home, spending most of his weekends at his home in Bolmington or on Rehoboth Beach where he owns a $2.7 million home, according to a tally by the Associated Press. He will head to Walmington again today for the weekend.
