
American Gabrielle Arboni is crowned Miss Universe

Arbonne Gabriel, an American model and fashion designer from Texas, was crowned Miss Universe, becoming the first Filipino-American to win the title.
And according to the Associated Press of America, Gabriel closed her eyes with her runner-up, Miss Venezuela, Amanda Dudamel, at the moment of the dramatic reveal of the 71st winner of the Miss Alwon contest. The second runner-up was Miss Dominican Republic, Andrina Martinez.
In the questions about the final stage of the competition between the three contestants, Gabrielle was asked how she would work to show that Miss Universe is an organization for empowerment and progress if she won the title, and she replied, saying, that she would use the title to be a leader who brings about transformation and cited her recycling of materials in her work in fashion design, teaching Tailoring for survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence.
Gabrielle said it is very important to invest in others, invest in our community and use unique talent to make a difference. She added that we all have something special, and when we plant those seeds in other people's lives, we are transforming, and we use this as a means of change.
According to the Miss Universe contest, Gabrielle was a former volleyball player in her high school and a graduate of the University of North Texas. She also heads up her own line of sustainable clothing production.
About 90 contestants from around the world participated in the competition, according to the organizers. Miss India Harnaz Sandhu was crowned the last world title.
