Egypt's ambassador to Brussels discusses bilateral cooperation files during his meetings in Luxembourg with the Speaker of Parliament, the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, and the heads of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Stock Exchange

Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Duchy of Luxembourg, held on January 23 and 24, 2023 a set of expanded meetings with senior officials in Luxembourg, on the sidelines of his participation in the annual reception hosted by Grand Duke "Henry", Duke of Luxembourg for ambassadors accredited to his country.
During those meetings, the Egyptian ambassador discussed cooperation relations with Egypt and ways to develop them in the political, parliamentary, economic and trade fields, in addition to attracting investments and cooperation in issuing green bonds, as well as financing projects that were agreed upon within the framework of the outcomes of the COP27 Climate Change Conference by the Investment Bank. European.

The Egyptian ambassador initiated the meetings with the President of the Luxembourg Parliament, Mr. Fernand Ottgen, who praised the distinguished relations between his country and Egypt in various fields and his aspiration to further deepen and support these relations, especially in the economic and trade fields, as well as deepening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, especially with the decision Parliament of Luxembourg to form a parliamentary friendship group with Egypt.

Ambassador Abdel-Aty also met with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Luxembourg Parliament, MP Yves Crosten, who praised during the meeting the Egyptian success in organizing and hosting the COP27 climate change conference in Sharm El-Sheikh last November, and its positive outputs, praising the role of the Egyptian presidency in the process. The green transition and within the framework of international climate action, as well as at the level of the African continent. During the meeting, a number of regional files were dealt with, especially the Palestinian issue and the Libyan and Syrian crises.

On the other hand, Ambassador Abdel-Aty met with the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, Mrs. Gelsomina Vigliotti, where they discussed aspects of the existing cooperation between Egypt and the European Investment Bank and the projects it is implementing in Egypt, especially in the fields of environment, green transformation, sustainable development, transportation and infrastructure, and supporting Small and medium enterprises, as well as participating in the implementation of the outcomes of the COP27 Climate Change Conference within the framework of the cooperation programs agreed upon with Egypt in the fields of water, electricity, agriculture and food security.

The Egyptian ambassador also met with the President of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, Mrs. "Julie Baker", and the President of the Federation of Luxembourg Chambers of Commerce, Mr. "Carlo Tellen", where aspects of existing cooperation with Egypt in the field of providing financial services, offering green bonds, as well as investment opportunities were discussed. Existing investment in Egypt, and ways to enhance the role of Luxembourgish companies in the Egyptian market.
