America renews its support for Sweden and Finland to join NATO

The United States renewed its support for Sweden and Finland's accession to NATO and expressed its firm belief in Sweden and Finland's readiness to join NATO.

This came, according to what the US State Department published in a statement on its website, today, Friday, during a meeting with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and Swedish Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Jan Knutson in Washington, DC.

The two sides discussed, according to the statement, continued and sustained support for Ukraine, addressing challenges posed by China, and cooperation between the United States and the European Union during Sweden's presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The two sides emphasized continuing to strengthen their close bilateral relations in the face of regional and global challenges.
