For the third year in a row, the rates of buying new cars decreased in Belgium

According to figures recently published by the Belgian National Statistical Office, in the past year "2022", 374,597 passenger cars were registered; This is 4.6% less than in 2021. In 2019, 557,970 new vehicles were in operation. This means that the market has shrunk by about a third in three years.

On the other hand, sales of new hybrid passenger cars (gasoline or diesel + electricity) increased by 15%, from 115,317 cars in 2021 to 133,184 cars in 2022. Sales of pure electric cars also rose sharply from 22,774 in in 2021 to 37,760 in 2022 (+66%).
