Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Brussels, met with Mr. Ben Peters, Executive Director of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Luisa Santos, Deputy Secretary General of Business Europe, in the presence of the head of the commercial office of the embassy. .
During the two meetings, Abdel-Aty reviewed the momentum in relations between Egypt and the European Union during the recent period, including the convening of the Association Council between Egypt and the European Union in Luxembourg in June 2022, and the adoption of the priority document between the two sides until 2027, which supports the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in areas of trade and investment.
Abdel Aty also highlighted the various facilities offered by the state to attract investments by removing bureaucratic obstacles and facilitating procedures through the issuance of a golden license to investors, and the government offering program on the Egyptian Stock Exchange. He discussed the advantages and attractive investment opportunities in Egypt as it is a huge market, in addition to the geographical proximity to the African and Arab markets, and the free trade agreements that unite it with African and Arab countries and with South American countries.
For his part, "Butters" explained his interest in strengthening cooperation with Egypt during the coming period, and his aspiration to visit Egypt soon at the head of the institution to get to know better the Egyptian markets, introduce European businessmen to investment opportunities in the Egyptian markets, and discuss ways of cooperation with Egyptian companies. Santos also praised the great importance that her institution attaches to enhancing cooperation with Egypt, as it is one of the most important neighboring countries, which represents an important source for diversifying the energy coming to the European Union, noting that they are looking forward to establishing more cooperation in more commodity and service sectors, which contributes to attracting more European investments. to Egypt. During the two meetings, they discussed the investment conference, which is being held in Egypt to encourage investment in cooperation with the European Union, and the importance of good preparation for it and the participation of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and European Business in it.
