
The World Government Summit 2023 kicks off with a minute of mourning for the earthquake victims

Under the slogan "Foreseeing Future Governments", the activities of the first day of the World Government Summit 2023 kicked off in Dubai, with the participation of elite leaders of countries, heads of government, decision-makers and intellectuals to anticipate the future and develop creative and proactive solutions to the most pressing issues of humanity in all fields. The activities of the World Government Summit 2023 began with the participants standing a minute of silence for the souls of the victims of the earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey, and Muhammad Al-Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Government Summit Foundation, delivered the opening speech of the main session of the World Government Summit 2023 entitled "10 Years of Transformation".
The World Government Summit 2023, in its current session, is witnessing a package of qualitative additions, in constant keeping pace with the rapid global changes, and the summit will continue its most influential role as a platform to explore the future of governments, design mechanisms to face challenges, strive to improve the quality of life and promote scientific and technological progress.
This year, the summit will hold more than 220 sessions in which 300 international figures, including presidents, ministers, experts, thinkers and future makers, will speak. It will also host 22 global forums that focus on developing future policies, strategies and plans that enhance governments’ readiness and flexibility for the next stage of development. The summit will sign 80 bilateral agreements and launch 20 reports. strategically in cooperation with elite partners and knowledge contributors. In addition to this, the summit constitutes the unifying platform for the largest number of international organizations, as it brings together this year more than 80 global and regional organizations, and it also hosts global leaders from the private sector and elite scholars.
The summit is considered the largest stimulating platform in its culmination of the most important and outstanding exceptional contributions to building a better society for humanity, through its multiple awards. The current edition of the summit presents 7 international awards, which are distributed in appreciation of government ministers, representatives of the private sector, innovators and creators.
