The Algerian Energy Minister is discussing with "ENI" and the European Commission investment opportunities to increase gas production

The Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, discussed with the head of the Italian company "Eni", Claudio Descalzi, as well as the Director General of Energy in the European Commission, Ditti Jules Jorgensen, investment opportunities in the field of increasing the volume of natural gas production.

This came during the Algerian minister's participation in the 41st edition of the "CeraWeek 2023" energy conference, which brings together leaders of the energy industry in the world. It started last Monday and will continue until March 10 in Houston, Texas, USA.

The Algerian Ministry of Energy stated - in a statement - that the talks with the head of "ENI" focused on the ongoing projects between the Algerian "Sonatrach" for oil and gas, and the Italian "ENI" in the field of hydrocarbons, and investment opportunities in the field of increasing the volume of natural gas production, as well as in the field of interconnection. electrical energy with Europe through Italy, in addition to discussing other cooperation opportunities in the field of new and renewable energies.

According to the statement, the talks between the Algerian Minister of Energy and the Director General of Energy in the European Commission touched on the status of the cooperation relationship between Algeria and the European Union in the field of energy and renewable energies, as well as investment opportunities, especially in the field of hydrocarbons, electrical and gas interconnection with Europe, as well as strengthening cooperation to reduce Harmful emissions, hydrogen development and export.
