The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is holding its 58th session from 13-17 March in Switzerland, the last step before the launch of its latest synthesis report, due for release on 20 March.
According to the United Nations in its publication on its website, this document, which is one of its main publications, will provide policy-makers with a high-level and up-to-date understanding of climate change, its impacts and future risks, as well as the options for addressing it.
The panel, made up of the 195 member governments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will also finally review and approve the report, which is expected to confirm that inaction is no longer an option.
