Russian defense spokesman Igor Konashenkov announced that the losses of the Kiev forces on the Yuzhno-Donetsk front, as a result of the professional and efficient actions of the "Vostok" groups, exceeded 250 people, 16 tanks, and others.
"The losses of the Kiev forces included 3 infantry fighting vehicles and 21 armored vehicles," Konashenkov said in a press statement.
"The enemy could not fulfill its tasks," Konashenkov emphasized.
Konashenkov also announced the thwarting of a large-scale offensive launched by Ukrainian forces on 5 sectors of the front in the direction of Yuzhno-Donetsk.
He said, "On the morning of June 4, the enemy launched a large-scale attack on five sectors of the front in the direction of Yuzhno-Donetsk, during which it introduced the 23rd and 31st mechanized brigades of the strategic reserves of the Ukrainian forces into battle, with the support of military units and other sub-units."
For its part, the Ukrainian Army Staff said, on Sunday, that the Russian forces focus their main efforts on trying to impose full control over the entire Luhansk and Donetsk regions, noting that the Ukrainian forces succeeded in repelling all 23 attack attempts carried out by the Russians during the past day.
