Beijing: Europe and the Arabs
China's Foreign Ministry on Monday expressed concern over allegations by the United States about its ability to build intelligence inside China. According to what was reported by the Middle East News Agency today, Monday
Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said the concerns stem from reports that CIA Director William Burns said last week that the US spy agency has made progress in rebuilding its intelligence network in China, and the agency has strong human intelligence capacity in China, according to Chinese news network CGTN on its website.
Mao confirmed that the Chinese authorities have followed up on these reports and are concerned about them.
The Chinese spokeswoman stated that the United States continues to spread disinformation about so-called Chinese spies and cyber attacks, but at the same time it does not hide its intention to carry out massive intelligence gathering against China.
Mao stressed that China will take all necessary measures to protect its national security.
