Russian presidential spokesman (Kremlin) Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia will take serious legal measures against every case of illegal detention of Russian funds abroad, in response to the US decision to send confiscated funds from sanctioned businessmen to support the Ukrainian armed forces.
The Kremlin spokesman said - in a statement reported by the Russian news agency (TASS) - “We took Washington’s decision in a very negative way. We consider all situations that involve the withholding, arrest, or withholding of funds related to the Russian state or private or mixed property abroad as criminal activities.” And, of course, any claims that they found justifications to continue this violation of the law are tantamount to legal nonsense and will in any case lead to litigation in the future.” According to what the Middle East Sons Agency reported on Friday morning.
The spokesman stressed that none of these cases will be ignored, noting: “Every case is unique, and it is important to understand the details of each case. But all of this will eventually turn into a serious lawsuit. We will not leave the matter alone.”
It is noteworthy that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated earlier that Washington will provide Kiev with more than a billion dollars in additional aid, which includes, for the first time, handing over assets to Ukraine taken from Russian oligarchs subject to sanctions.
