Companies and financial institutions with the European Commission in the dialogue on decarbonizing the transport sector

  The European Commission in Brussels said, through a statement, that President Ursula von der Leyen, Executive Vice President Ševečović, and Commissioner Valian are chairing the ninth Clean Transition Dialogue, with a focus on clean mobility.
The European statement said that on Monday, President von der Leyen, Executive Vice President Maros Šefčović, and Commissioner Adina Luana Valian will chair the ninth Clean Transition Dialogue, this time dedicated to decarbonizing the transport sector and the transition to zero-emission mobility in Europe. Representatives of European companies from all modes of transport, financial institutions as well as social partners will be present during the dialogue.
The President, Executive Vice-President and Commissioners will discuss with participants how to ensure the global competitiveness of the EU transport industry and companies, how the public and private sectors can work together to this end, and ways to improve access to supportive public and private financing.
  Decarbonizing the sector.
Participants will discuss the challenges and obstacles facing the sector, especially with regard to the deployment of infrastructure for recharging or refueling with sustainable alternative fuels, and the availability of the same fuels for aviation and marine in particular, thus enhancing the skills needed for the sector. Decarbonization and competitiveness.
The Clean Transition Dialogues, inaugurated by the President of the Commission in her annual State of the European Union address in 2023, constitute a framework in which the Commission exchanges with the various relevant stakeholders on how to implement the European Green Deal. Previous dialogues have focused on hydrogen, energy-intensive industries, clean technologies, energy infrastructure, basic raw materials, forest bioeconomy, cities and the steel sector. The Commission will evaluate these dialogues in a communication scheduled for next week.
