Today, the doors of the European Union institutions are opened to the public until May 9th, “Europe Day”.

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
The European Union institutions open their doors from today to the public from all over the countries of the unified European bloc until the ninth of this month, which is the day on which the anniversary of the founding of a unified Europe falls, which is known as Europe Day. According to what was published by the federal institutions in Brussels, on the ninth of May, Europe celebrates the anniversary of The founding document of the European Union – Schuman Declaration. The Declaration, signed on May 9, 1950, served as a starting point for cooperation in Europe and peace on our continent. Europe Day is a symbol of the European Union's openness, transparency, democracy and unity.
This year's edition of Europe Day takes place 45 years after the first European elections in 1979, and shortly before the 2024 elections that will be held from June 6 to 9 in all EU countries.
On Europe Day, 9 May, the European Union celebrates its achievements in the field of unity and long-term peace, commemorating the signing of the Schuman Declaration in 1950. A month before the European elections (6 to 9 June), citizens will have the opportunity to visit the EU institutions in Brussels. And beyond, and learn more about what Europe is doing for them and with them. Citizens will be invited to participate in discussions, live performances, games and other activities.
European Parliament
The Europe Day event will begin in the European Parliament on 4 May with an opening ceremony with Vice-President Mark Angel (S&D, LU). The day will continue with activities for all ages, with media platforms and short sessions on combating misinformation, women in politics and election campaigns. Citizens will be invited to learn how to vote in the European elections, why voting is important, and how to make a difference in protecting democracy. European Council
On May 4, at the Council in Brussels, visitors will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of European Union leaders. Guided tours will be organized throughout the day, without prior registration, allowing citizens to explore the architecture of the council buildings as well. Young visitors will enjoy a series of custom animations including a treasure hunt. Each of the 27 member states will have a platform to showcase national traditions, specialty foods and tourist attractions. Visitors will be able to discover it in an interactive way and attend live performances. An exhibition will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the EU enlargement in 2004.
European Commission
On May 4, citizens are invited to visit the Berlaymont Building. The Commission will give citizens the opportunity to learn about its role, explore the thematic villages prepared for the occasion and discover the history of the European Union and our values. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn what the Commission is doing to defend our democracy and diversity and how we are building a more digital and greener future. A dedicated section will showcase our support for Ukraine. Special activities will highlight the 20th anniversary of the EU enlargement in 2004, the 25th anniversary of the Euro, and the 30th anniversary of the Single Market. European Central Bank
Citizens will have the opportunity to learn about the euro, the common currency of 20 EU countries, the digital euro project and what the ECB is doing to keep prices stable and banks safe and sound. On 4 May, citizens will be able to meet ECB experts at the European Commission in Brussels. Also that evening, the ECB will open its doors in Frankfurt to pre-registered visitors as part of the “Night of Museums” initiative and on 9 May it will join the Frankfurt European Festival.
European Court of Auditors
On May 9, EU auditors in Luxembourg will offer engaging interactive games and the possibility for citizens to take a quiz to test their auditing skills. Families and people of all ages will be able to find out how ECA helps protect the money of EU citizens.
European External Action Service
  Visitors to the European External Action Service are invited on 4 May to immerse themselves in the dynamic work of the European Union Diplomatic Service in Brussels and around the world. They will participate in talks with European Union ambassadors and learn about the European Union's role in promoting peace, human rights and sustainable development in the world. They will enjoy live music, dance performances, workshops and collecting culinary inspiration from different places around the world. The immersive journey will be enriched with various film screenings in the cinema room. Children will be our special guests with lots of fun activities, including a puppet show.
European Economic and Social Committee
The EU Organized Civil Society House will open its doors in Brussels on May 4. Members of the European Economic and Social Committee will engage in lively discussions with people and will listen to their concerns. The day's program includes interactive games, an EU quiz, live music and children's activities. When visiting the EESC building, visitors will also be able to welcome EESC members and staff at the completion of the bike race to raise awareness about the European elections.
European Committee of the Regions
The European Union's Council of Regions and Cities opens its headquarters in Brussels on May 4 to bring citizens together with elected regional and local politicians. Interactive positions and activities will provide the opportunity to learn more about the role of the Committee of the Regions and its commitment to bridging the distance between the European Union and its local communities
