Sahar Adly.. The first Egyptian woman to run for elections in Belgium, relying on her popularity among Arab communities and her good relationship with the Belgians

Belgium: Europe and the Arabs
Egyptian-born Sahar Adly is running in the Belgian elections scheduled for the thirteenth of next month on the Socialist Party's "Vorout" list, which means "Forward." For years, Sahar's close associates have been trying to convince her to work in politics and run for elections, but she was unable to do so due to work-related commitments and other matters. Recently, Sahar was convinced of the idea, especially since she found a welcome from a large number of party members due to her respected leadership personality, loved by everyone, and fluent in the language. She has many activities in social work, especially among the Egyptian community and others. In statements to the news website and electronic newspaper "Europe and the Arabs", Sahar says that she does not only rely on the votes of Egyptians who know her well, but also the votes of members of other communities, as well as Belgians, who have succeeded over the past years in building strong relationships with neighbors, friends, colleagues at work, and others. The streets of the city of Mechelen and its small municipalities now bear pictures of the candidates on the party list, including Sahar, who came on the list number one and bears number 30. She is looking forward to obtaining a seat in the local councils of the city, which she is closely linked to due to the long years she has lived in it and has become sufficiently aware of the problems that citizens suffer from. Sahar said in statements to the website and newspaper "Europe and the Arabs" She chose the party because of the program it proposes, which includes solutions to many of the problems that citizens suffer from. Sahar Adly added that she is aware of all the problems, and through the campaigns she carries out and the seminars she participates in with the party leaders in the presence of citizens, she learns about what citizens suffer from, including, for example, the lack of ATMs in the streets after several banks decided to reduce their number, which are issues that some people suffer from, especially the elderly in the villages. There is also the problem of providing better roads for cyclists after accidents related to this matter increased, as well as complaints about the small number of buses in some areas and at more times than the current ones, as well as providing better services in the field of education for schools affiliated with municipalities for children in the primary stages and ensuring that continuous renewal is taken into account and providing better services. Also, the problem of immediate fines collected from citizens, especially young people who throw some garbage in the street, and we seek to demand that the person be warned at the beginning and the matter be explained to him instead of the immediate financial fine, as well as the issue of closing some streets to car traffic and making them only limited to the residents of the street or making them one-way only, which makes some people make mistakes due to the lack of clear signs and a large fine is imposed on the driver. The complaint about the large number of fines imposed on citizens is at the forefront of the complaints of the citizens we meet. Sahar Adly has been living in Belgium for 37 years, is married and has a daughter and a son, and they are in their thirties. She lives in the city of Mechelen, which is a large city located between Brussels, the capital, and the Flemish city of Antwerp in the north of the country. She has extensive experience in working in the field of tourism and enjoys good relations and a good reputation among the Arab communities residing in Belgium. She will be the first woman of Egyptian origin to run for regional and local elections in Belgium.
