Brussels to Host Seventh Meeting with Albania on EU Accession

The European Union institutions in Brussels announced that the seventh meeting with Albania regarding its accession to the European Union will be held on Monday under the auspices of the current EU presidency. According to a European statement, the meeting will open with negotiations with Albania on the fifth group, "Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion," including Chapters 11 (Agriculture and Rural Development), 12 (Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Measures), 13 (Fisheries and Aquaculture), 22 (Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments), and 33 (Financial and Budgetary Provisions).

The sixth meeting of the accession conference with Albania was held on September 16 in Brussels. The meeting was dedicated to negotiations with Albania on Group 4, "Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity," which included the following negotiation chapters:

Chapter 14 - Transport Policy

Chapter 15 - Energy

Chapter 21 - Trans-European Networks

Chapter 27 - Environment and Climate Change
The EU delegation was headed by Marie-Pierre Beier, Danish Minister for European Affairs, and included European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Koss. The Albanian delegation was headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
