The Syrian Football Association announced that a joint delegation from "FIFA" and the Asian Confederation will visit Syria to review the situation there, in preparation for allowing it to host friendly matches. The Syrian Federation wrote on its Facebook account: "FIFA and the AFC will send a joint delegation to Syria in preparation for lifting the ban on Syrian stadiums." For its part, the FIFA official website referred to FIFA's decision in this regard, saying, "FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation have decided to send a joint delegation to Syria to conduct a security assessment regarding the possibility of hosting international friendly matches in the country."
