
The Ambassador of Egypt in Brussels discusses with European Commission officials the arrangements for the United Nations Climate Change Conference

Badr Abdel-Aty, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the European Union, met with the Adviser to the President of the European Commission for the European Green Deal, Environment and Climate Affairs, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the European Commission. Cooperation between the two sides in all areas of common interest to achieve mutual interest, especially in the areas of exporting clean energy from Egypt to the European Union.
The meeting dealt in detail with the substantive and organizational arrangements that Egypt is making to host the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), where the Egyptian ambassador stressed that the Egyptian presidency attaches great importance to the participation of all parties concerned with the issue of climate change, especially civil society and non-governmental organizations concerned with issues of climate change. The environment and companies working in the areas of innovation and green transformation.
For its part, the European side expressed its appreciation for these efforts in light of the interest the European Union attaches to issues of climate change, and its reliance on the Egyptian presidency to make the conference a success and produce the desired positive results.
The meeting also touched on the importance of strengthening the existing cooperation between Egypt and the European Union in the energy sector, and exporting Egyptian green hydrogen to Europe, taking into account Egypt's status as a regional center for energy production, distribution and trading in the region.
