
The Egyptian Embassy in Brussels reviews the efforts of the Egyptian presidency of the climate conference

Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kingdom of Belgium and accredited to the European Union, hosted a working breakfast in the context of promoting Egypt’s hosting and presidency of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change next November, which included a number of ambassadors accredited to the European Union, In addition to the Adviser to the President of the European Commission on Environment and Climate Affairs, the Diplomatic Adviser to the Belgian Prime Minister, the European Union Ambassador for Climate Diplomacy, the Directors of the Climate and Environment Departments of the European Commission, and the Executive Director of the 26th session of the Conference.
The Egyptian ambassador reviewed the latest developments in the substantive and organizational aspects of the conference, highlighting the main objectives that the Egyptian presidency seeks to achieve, foremost of which is moving from the planning stage to the implementation stage to ensure that implementable outputs emerge from the conference in connection with issues of adaptation, losses, damages and emissions reduction, and providing funding to support developing countries. The participants emphasized their reliance on the Egyptian presidency of the conference to bring the views of the various parties participating in the conference closer, which would contribute to building confidence among all parties by taking into account the interests and concerns of all countries and reaching a balanced package of goals that raise international climate ambition.
Abdel-Aty also met with a number of European Parliament deputies from various political currents, and the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission. It contributes to achieving its desired goals and for the benefit of all parties in facing this global phenomenon. The Egyptian ambassador was also keen on emphasizing the importance of continuing to support the channels of communication between the Egyptian and European Parliament, enhancing the pace of mutual visits between the two sides, as well as reviewing the various aspects of the comprehensive modernization and development process that Egypt is witnessing at all levels, whether political, economic, developmental, social or Cultural promotion, human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the empowerment of women, youth and people of determination.
