The President of Algeria entrusts the production of children's vaccine and insulin locally, starting from the new year

The President of the Algerian Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, issued instructions for the production of children's vaccine and insulin locally, starting from the new year 2023.

The Algerian newspaper "An-Nahar" said that the instructions of the Algerian presidency came during Tebboune's chairmanship of a cabinet meeting, in which he highlighted the current efforts aimed at advancing the pharmaceutical industry, stressing that providing medicines to citizens is a lofty task.

And the Algerian presidency issued a statement that included the results of the meeting, whereby Tebboune ordered that the pharmacists’ complex cover a large part of the requirements of the national drug market, after it fell to 5%, after it had an estimated market share of 47%.

The Algerian president stressed the need to combat drug smuggling in all its forms, and to punish those involved with the most severe penalties.

Earlier, the Algerian Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun, denied what was circulated about the depletion of some medicines in Algeria, indicating that the matter was merely a matter of pressure on the demand for some medicines, such as antibiotics.
