Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of daily life, so dealing with its applications has become automatic.
A Pew Research Center survey last December found that a majority of Americans are familiar with common ways they engage with AI in everyday life, such as chatbots for customer service and product recommendations based on past purchases.
27% of the respondents said they interact with AI at least several times a day, and 28% said they interact with it almost once a day, according to the Sky News Arabia report.
Feelings about artificial intelligence:
• More broadly, caution remains about the impact of AI on everyday life.
• Only 21% expressed their enthusiasm more than their fear of the increasing use of artificial intelligence, compared to 31% who were more concerned.
• 46% express an equal mix of anxiety and excitement.
• As an example of engaging with AI, 64% of respondents said they see it applied in online shopping recommendations that appear based on past purchases.
Use of artificial intelligence:
• Majority are aware that AI works in chatbots for customer service (65%).
• Security cameras that recognize faces (62%).
• Favorite music playlist recommendations (57%).
• In conclusion, awareness of the uses of artificial intelligence in various aspects of life is increasing, but in the future this is accompanied by an increase in fear of the expansion of these uses.
Artificial intelligence expert, Islam Shatnawi, said, "The issue of the spread of artificial intelligence 7 years ago from now was gradual, but now the issue has become 'Uspread' in a big way."
Shintawi added, in an interview with Sabah, "Sky News Arabia": There are two types of fears, legitimate fears, and exaggerated fears, due to lack of awareness.
The artificial intelligence expert explained: The results of online shopping differ from one person to another, pointing out that "the aim of this difference is to increase polarization ... to transform people and their interests into a model that can be used financially, or as a practical model that is successful for the manufacturer."
He concluded his intervention by saying, "GBT Chat is the last revolution that has become, in 5 days it has reached one million subscribers, while Facebook, which is a free service, remained for 8 months to reach one million subscribers, and this indicates that artificial intelligence is making leaps and these leaps have benefits and also have risks without doubt".
