According to what was stated in a European statement in Brussels, which indicated that he is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting today, Wednesday, with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to discuss the situation in the Middle East, and to reaffirm the joint support of the European Union and the United States for Ukraine, as well as to address key global, foreign and security priorities. . . On Wednesday and Thursday, Borrell will also hold meetings with members of the US Congressional Foreign Relations Committee and other interlocutors.
On Friday, High Representative Borrell, together with EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simpson, will co-chair the EU-US Energy Council from the EU side and with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm from the United States.
This came after High Representative Borrell delivered his annual speech before the United Nations Security Council on cooperation between the United Nations and the European Union at the invitation of Japan, which holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council this month.
