A Russian missile falls in Poland...raises fears of an expansion of the scope of the Ukrainian war

The Polish Armed Forces announced that a cruise missile had violated Polish airspace; After Moscow launched a major air attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and the western Lviv region near the Polish border.
The Armed Forces indicated - in a statement carried by the Associated Press on Sunday - that "Russia violated Polish airspace with a cruise missile today at 4:23 a.m. local time when it launched a major air attack on western Ukraine."
The statement stated that "the missile entered near the Polish town of Osierdo and remained there for 39 seconds," noting that "military radar systems monitored the missile the entire time and all necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of Polish airspace."
Ukrainian officials said that several explosions occurred in Kiev, and the air defense forces were able to destroy 18 missiles, while there were no reports of casualties as a result of the attack.
