The Tunisian National Guard announced that it thwarted 30 maritime border crossing operations and rescued 614 illegal immigrants, as part of confronting the phenomenon of illegal immigration.
The National Guard added in a statement that among the illegal immigrants were Tunisians and the rest were of African nationalities, and two bodies were recovered. According to what the Middle East News Agency reported on Monday morning.
In a related context, National Guard units in Sfax were able to arrest 22 organizers of illegal immigration, and 437 random tents exploited by African immigrants were removed, adding that the necessary legal measures had been taken.
On Saturday, the Tunisian National Guard announced thwarting 28 operations to cross the maritime border and rescuing 1,178 illegal immigrants in the Sfax province.
