A dialogue session for the NATO Regional Center in Kuwait discussed topics related to international peace and security

NATO Assistant Secretary-General for Political and Security Affairs, Ambassador Boris Rogge, said that his visit program to the State of Kuwait aims to strengthen the capabilities of the NATO Regional Center and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, develop it as an effective cooperation and training center, and enhance the participation of the State of Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE. According to what the Middle East News Agency reported
Rogge said - in a statement, following a dialogue session organized on Monday by the NATO Regional Center and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative in the State of Kuwait, entitled (NATO Dialogue) - that among the objectives of the visit are to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and coordinate joint efforts with the government of the State of Kuwait in the fields of education, training and political dialogue. And interoperability and partnership programs and consideration of the priorities set by Kuwait, expressing pride and pride in the presence of the Alliance’s regional center and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, the only one in the region in the State of Kuwait.
For his part, Assistant Professor of History at Kuwait University, Dr. Badr Al-Saif, said that the State of Kuwait had a prominent leadership role as the first Gulf country to join NATO as a non-partner member in twenty years.
He added, "The dialogue session discussed topics related to international security and peace, and close cooperation between the Center and Kuwait, the most important of which are combating terrorism, maritime security, information exchange and military training, and strengthening strategic partnerships between NATO and the State of Kuwait and ways to develop them."
Kuwait joined as the first member of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative in June 2004, and established the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative regional center in Kuwait in 2017 as a culmination of the cooperation relations between Kuwait and the alliance.
