Brussels: Europe and Arabs
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be "soon" in the US Congress. This is what the Republican President of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said Thursday evening. According to Johnson, this is a "strong support statement" in the midst of the war in Gaza.
Johnson said during a reception at the Israeli embassy in Washington: "I am happy tonight to announce something else: We will soon welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu in the Capitol in a joint session of Congress," Johnson said during a reception at the Israeli embassy in Washington. "It will be necessary, and I think you are very strong to support the Israeli government at a time you need more than others."
According to European media reports, on the Belgian news agency in Brussels: This call, to the Israeli Prime Minister by the Republican opposition against President Joe Biden, comes after a double setback for Israel this week: recognition by three European countries in the state of Palestine and the defendant’s decision
The year in the Basic Criminal Court, Karim Khan, to study the issuance of arrest orders against Netanyahu due to the alleged "crimes against humanity", as well as a number of Hamas leaders.
Netanyahu's invitation also comes at a time when the US President announced that he is against any major attack on Rafah, where more than a million citizens are detained. Biden also threatened to stop some arms delivery to Israel if his warning was not followed.
This led to criticism in Washington from his Republican opponents, who accused him of abandoning Israel.
But no date has yet been proposed to visit the Israeli Prime Minister to Washington. Netanyahu also must agree. According to the Belgian news agency
