US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant a ceasefire proposal in the Gaza Strip.
A statement on the official website of the US State Department said that Blinken made a phone call with Gallant to discuss the proposal submitted to reach a complete ceasefire in Gaza, as part of a deal to release detainees and increase humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip. According to what was reported by the Youm 7 news website in Cairo, from the Middle East News Agency
“The proposal would advance Israel’s long-term security interests by allowing for the possibility of greater integration in the region,” Blinken said, and reaffirmed the United States’ firm commitment to Israel’s security.
