New York - Kyiv: Europe and the Arabs
The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Denise Brown, strongly condemned the attacks launched by Russian armed forces on several cities across Ukraine on Monday, which resulted in numerous civilian casualties and damage to a children's hospital.
This came in the wake of deadly Russian raids that targeted several Ukrainian cities, including Kryvyi Rih and Pokrovsk, in addition to the capital, Kiev. In her statement, the senior UN official said that dozens of civilians were killed and wounded, while a children's hospital in central Kiev was subjected to severe damage, the extent of which is not yet known.
She added: “It is unconscionable that children are being killed and injured in this war. Under international humanitarian law, hospitals enjoy special protection. Civilians must be protected.”
