The US Special Envoy to Sudan, Tom Perello, confirmed that the United States is making great efforts to stop the violence in Sudan and provide humanitarian aid before the start of negotiations between the parties to the conflict in Geneva. According to what was reported by the Youm7 website in Cairo from the Middle East News Agency,
Perello said - in a special statement to the American Al-Hurra channel today, Sunday - that "there are countries and negative players fueling the Sudanese conflict," noting at the same time that Sudanese civilians are in urgent need of delivering humanitarian aid and stopping the violence.
He stressed that Sudan is a priority for the administration of US President Joe Biden, adding that Biden and his Secretary of State Anthony Blinken have personally engaged to push for efforts to stop the violence and push for the largest possible amount of humanitarian aid.
