The authorities of the Russian regions of Bryansk and Rostov announced that they repelled a Ukrainian attack targeting their territories with drones, without causing any casualties or damage to citizens' property.
The governor of Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said on his Telegram channel: "Dear citizens! Currently, our defenders are repelling another terrorist attack using a drone on the territory of Bryansk. Six drones were detected and destroyed by the Russian air defense forces. There were no casualties or damage. Emergency services and operations are working on the ground."
The governor of Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, indicated that the air defense forces destroyed at least one drone in the western regions of the region, and there were no casualties or damage to property.
In a related context, the governor of the Russian region of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced earlier on Saturday that a woman was killed in the village of Bezlyudovka in the region as a result of a shell that directly hit a house.
The Russian Defense Ministry also announced on Saturday that Russian air defenses destroyed 19 Ukrainian drones in the skies of the Belgorod and Kursk regions last night.
It explained that "the air defense systems on duty destroyed 10 drones over the territory of the Kursk region and 9 drones over the territory of the Belgorod region."
Ukrainian forces target the Russian border areas in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov regions and the Crimean Peninsula with drones and missiles on an almost daily basis.
Kiev is using terrorist methods, most notably the use of attack drones and artillery shelling against civilians and civilian facilities in Russia, in an attempt to divert attention from the failure of what it calls the "counterattack", which it announced in June of last year.
In the same context, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustam Umerov discussed with representatives of his country's allied countries on Saturday accelerating and increasing military assistance and other ways to confront the Russian threat.
In a post on his Facebook page, Umerov wrote that he attended the European Defense Roundtable organized by the Munich Security Conference, according to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
The minister stressed at the meeting that his country is fighting for the security of the entire European continent and that Ukraine's needs remain unchanged. He explained that first and foremost, it is about accelerating and increasing the volume of military assistance, including equipment, shells, long-range ammunition, mines and mine-clearing equipment, electronic warfare systems, and spare parts.
The minister said: "It is of utmost importance to strengthen our air defense capabilities to protect critical infrastructure from Russian attacks. In addition to strengthening our air defense capabilities, it is necessary to ensure a reliable supply of ammunition for these systems."
He noted that in August, Ukraine used F-16 aircraft for the first time to repel a massive air attack. "We are looking forward to expanding pilot training programs and renewing guided missiles in a timely manner," he said.
