Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
From June 10-12, the European Union will host the European Union Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), a three-day policy conference focusing on Europe's transition to competitive, clean, and affordable energy for its citizens and businesses. According to the federal institutions in Brussels, this year's conference will focus on "Promoting a fair and competitive green transition."
On June 10, Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jørgensen, will open the conference with a keynote address. Teresa Ribera, Executive Vice President for Clean, Fair, and Competitive Transition, will then participate in the EUSEW Awards ceremony, honoring outstanding individuals and projects for their contribution to the clean energy transition. In the afternoon, Wopke Hoekstra, Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero, and Clean Growth, will deliver a keynote address on the Clean Industrial Deal.
As part of the conference, Commissioner Jørgensen will engage with various stakeholders to discuss the implementation of EU legislation, which is essential for accelerating and simplifying the licensing procedures for renewable energy projects. Accelerating the rollout of clean energy infrastructure is a key component of the European Union's plans to reduce energy prices and enhance competitiveness.
EUSEW is Europe's largest annual event dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency, attracting more than 10,000 participants annually, including policymakers, private sector representatives, businesses, civil society organizations, and citizens.
