
Iranian Resistance: Demonstration today in Paris in support of the uprising, hours after the burning of Khomeini's statue

Today, the French capital, Paris, is witnessing a demonstration in which thousands of Iranians are expected to participate, to express their support for the popular uprising in Iran. According to what the Iranian Resistance announced in a statement, a copy of which we received, and it added that the demonstrators will echo the aspirations of the Iranian people to overthrow the mullahs’ regime and establish a democratic republic. According to the statement, the eleventh of February marks the anniversary of the overthrow of the Shah's dictatorship by the Iranian people in 1979.
Prominent European personalities including Guy Verhofstadt, Member of the European Parliament, Prime Minister of Belgium (1999 to 2008), John Bercow, Speaker of the UK House of Commons (2009 to 2019), Ingrid Betancourt, former hostage and candidate in the Colombian presidential elections, as well as will participate French deputies and speaking during the event, which will also be an occasion for short street performances and a large exhibition. Various Iranian communities sponsored this event. Representatives of communities of different generations and professions will also speak.
The February 12 protests are taking place at a time when Iran is witnessing an unprecedented and continuous national uprising by the Iranian people since September 2022 to overthrow the ruling mullahs’ regime.
According to information received from the People's Mojahedin of Iran's network inside the country, at least 750 demonstrators, including 70 children, were killed, and more than 30,000 demonstrators were arrested.
Despite the mullahs' regime's violent repression, including the execution of four protesters and barbaric torture such as sexual assaults, protests and demonstrations continued. In the same context, another statement of the resistance indicated that yesterday, Saturday, February 11, on the anniversary of the revolution against the Shah's regime and its theft by Khomeini, the youth of the uprising, during Ibrahim Raisi's speech at the official government decrees in Azadi Square (Freedom) in Tehran, fired 12 sound bombs from both sides of the site. The official celebration, which led to Ibrahim Raisi's speech being cut off for 15 seconds, and the regime's elements and media tried to prevent citizens' reactions and interest in the state media.
In another transformation, the youth of the uprising, at dawn on Saturday in Batawah, Kohkiluyeh province, and Boyer Ahmed, on the anniversary of the revolution against the Shah's regime, set fire to a statue of Khomeini in the main square of the city and detonated it.
