Dutch police said the Rotterdam area had recently seen a "massive increase" in the number of bombings. Eighteen explosions took place in buildings this month alone. According to media reports in The Hague on Tuesday morning, she added that last week there were six more attacks in homes, and today two more explosions took place in the city, where twelve explosions were reported in 2021, and after a year it rose This number to 49 explosions. According to the Dutch media, the exact reasons are not known, but according to the police, most of the attacks are related to drugs.
In the neighboring country, a few days ago, residents in one of the municipalities of the city of Antwerp, in northern Belgium, woke up to the sound of an explosion after throwing an explosive substance at a restaurant at four in the morning, and it was closed, and the matter led to great damage. Last year, the Belgian police found possible explosives near a house in the municipality of Marxim, in the northern province of Antwerp. Three Dutch suspects were also arrested. Presumably, they wanted to carry out another attack on the same house that had been targeted several times before as part of a settling of scores in the drug world. There was also a message written in red on the side walls and on the facade.
According to local media, the police identified suspicious acts through a portable camera that had been hanging on the street for a while. Some suspects stayed near the house in Reichkhor Velden in Merksem municipality and put a message on the facade with graffiti. He reads, among other things, "Cocaine".
The rescue team was able to stop a vehicle with a Dutch number plate in the immediate vicinity. Three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and taken to the Federal Judicial Police for questioning. The forensic laboratory conducted an investigation into the impact.
The police also found a possible explosive device nearby. Dovo demining service personnel moved to the site to try to find and defuse explosives. Some homes have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. The target building is the home of Gianni and Giorgi F.'s parents, who, according to local media, are well-known names in the drug world. The two brothers are associated with the group surrounding Mounir Albertali, aka Gino. An explosive device exploded in the front yard before that, but without damage.
Last summer, the house was shot twice, and a year ago the family's car was set on fire.
