Josep Borrell, the European Union's foreign policy coordinator, began this morning in New Delhi, his talks on the sidelines of his participation in the G20 foreign ministers' meetings held within the framework of India's G20 presidency, and to participate in the Resina dialogue. During a visit that lasts from the first to the fourth of this month, he will deliver Borrell delivered a speech at the CII Business Conclave during the plenary session on "India-Europe: Partners for Future Growth", according to what was announced by the European Union's institutions in Brussels, adding that Borrell started the talks he will hold during the visit with talks with External Affairs Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar. The agenda included the bilateral aspects of the strategic partnership and a range of regional and international security issues, in both Europe and Asia.
As for tomorrow, Thursday, March 2, Borrell will participate in the meeting of the G20 foreign ministers. India's G20 Presidency is being held under the theme 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) with more than 200 events across the country.
According to the European statement, as Russia's war against Ukraine marks the first anniversary of its founding, the European High Representative will send a strong message on Russia's flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and its global consequences, particularly on energy and food insecurity, but also on the importance of a stronger multilateral system. fit for the future, as well as the urgent need to accelerate the green transition to address the existential threats of climate change and biodiversity loss globally.
The High Representative will also focus on threats enabled by new technologies, such as disinformation and cybersecurity.
And on Friday, March 3, Borrell will participate in the Raisina Dialogue in the session "The New High Table: Realigning the G-20 in a Changing World."
During his visit, High Representative Borrell will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from different continents to discuss regional and bilateral issues.
