
Kuwait provides its testimony to “International Justice” about its commitment to protecting the climate system

The State of Kuwait submitted its written statement to the International Court of Justice, within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly’s request from member states to provide an advisory opinion on states’ obligations to ensure the protection of the climate system and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The statement was presented by the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Netherlands, Ali Al-Dhafiri, and the extradition procedures took place at the official headquarters of the International Court of Justice, according to the Kuwait News Agency yesterday, Friday.
The statement submitted by the State of Kuwait comes with the combined efforts of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, represented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Dr. Imad Al-Ateeqi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Al-Yahya, and with the follow-up of the Governor of the State of Kuwait in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Muhammad Al-Shatti, and the Fatwa and Legislation Department.
Through this statement, the State of Kuwait seeks to confirm the fulfillment of all its obligations that it ratified in all signed international conferences, protocols and agreements. To protect the climate and steps in this regard.
