The role of women in leading the uprising for the overthrow Srunaz Jet Saz Head of the Women's Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran

The participation of Iranian women in the uprising is not a new phenomenon. This phenomenon may be new for those whose hands are not in the fire and who do not know the ins and outs of the resistance well. However, the truth is that it is not possible for the participation of women and their leadership role in our society to be an unprecedented phenomenon in light of this amount of oppression and opposition to women. If it were otherwise, we would have seen examples of it in many other societies. Women's participation and leadership requires prior frameworks and plans. This framework extends back 40 years.

Women's leadership in the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran

Revolutionary Iranian women rely on the resistance that began in 1981 in the prisons of the mullahs' fascist regime against brutal oppression and then continued inside and outside Iran. 120,000 people were martyred in this resistance. A total of 30,000 political prisoners were hanged in the 1988 massacre. The mullahs' regime, in fact, intended to commit the genocide of the PMOI. Of course, he could not and will not commit this heinous crime. Because the PMOI belongs to the history of this land. They are a good tree according to the Holy Quran, as their roots extend back to 100 years in the history of Iran.

Women have held sensitive and leadership positions in an organization that enjoys this history and importance since 1989. It is not possible for this phenomenon to be just a form and a case, but rather a fact, as 9 women have so far held the position of Secretary-General of this organization. Our sister Shahrzad Sadr Sedjowadi, who is one of the organization's general secretaries, spoke at the 27th advocacy programme. Sisters with very heavy responsibilities, despite their young age, also participated in this program.

These women were able to cross the difficult streams of struggle. In particular, they have a 14-year record of resilience in Ashraf and Liberty. They went through many plots and some scenes, such as the mullahs' regime attacking them with a barrage of missiles, attacking them, and committing a massacre against them.

And on the political scene; The presence of Sister Maryam Rajavi and her leadership role in the movement and directing the campaigns are very important. evidence of this fact. Many politicians and political figures have emphasized her leadership role.

The Iranian Resistance, with its competence and leadership, was able to carry out some campaigns, such as removing the MEK from the terrorist lists of the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States, or successfully passing the mass exodus of the MEK from Liberty to Albania. I have referred to them as a list only, and each of them has a long dispute.

Our resistance, led by such women, passed the fateful stages of the struggle.

Islam of the People's Mujahedin and Islam of Khomeini

We conclude in search of the motive for women's resistance; One of the positions of the People's Mojahedin, especially the positions of Brother Massoud Rajavi against the anti-women reaction is that individual rights and freedoms have been targeted since the day after the anti-Shah revolution. The PMOI's Islam believed, unlike Khomeini's Islam; With the liberation of women, equality between men and women, and the rights of nationalities, workers and oppressed classes. At the same time, the widespread participation of women and girls revealed; Khomeini's false protection of Sharia was unveiled. For this reason, Khomeini described the PMOI as hypocrites, and decided to eliminate them. The truth is that his existence depended on the annihilation of the PMOI. Today, the reactionary Supreme Leader Khamenei, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, and the special police units are repeating the same crimes committed by Khomeini in 1981. Not long ago, Khamenei said that the god of 1981 is the same as the god of this year. And by “God” he means the same executioners and criminal forces.

Let's take a quick look at the list of resistance martyrs. Let's find out how many young people were martyred at the hands of this fascist regime, knowing that they are under the age of 18. Some of the witnesses who testified during the trial of the executioner, Hamid Nuri; The ages of these young men did not exceed 12-13 years at the time of their arrest. For example, Fatima Misbah was 13 years old when she was executed. So when we say “the child-killing regime,” we are not facing a new phenomenon. Such crimes have been committed since 1981 until today. Suffice it to point out that this fascist regime killed more than 36,000 people out of the total of 450,000 students it sent to the fronts of its war with Iraq in order to wrap them up and send them to the minefields.

The overthrow of the clerical regime is the main desire of Iranian women

Iranian women's desire is not limited to the hijab at all, nor can it be. As the conflict with this fascist regime arose from the beginning in pursuit of freedom and against the theft of the people's sovereignty. It is true that this uprising began with the unjust killing of our Kurdish citizen, Mahsa Amini, but this heinous crime resulted in an explosion of national anger and the eruption of the longest uprising to overthrow the rule of the jurist. The slogans targeted the Guardian Jurist since the early days of the uprising. Women, girls, and young men chanted around the clock, “Death to Khamenei,” to the extent that the leaders of the mullahs’ regime were terrified, and they wondered why citizens targeted the supreme leader.

Citizens in the street did not fall into the trap of thinking that the issue was limited to the headscarf. They chanted, "With or without the veil, forward towards the revolution." Accordingly, it is not a matter of wearing or taking off the hijab.” The goal is nothing but to change this fascist regime. This is now clear to everyone. Reforms in this regard are irrelevant. It is worth noting that Brother Massoud Rajavi said very clearly, during Khatami’s era: “The snake does not give birth to the dove.” This means that this entire system must be overthrown. Iranian men and women did not rise up just because of the hijab. Wall

The fact is that this uprising took place in order to overthrow this medieval regime.

I remember that Sister Mary said about the role of women; At the Dortmund concert in Germany in 1993:

“You threw on the head of Iranian women all your reactionary and medieval arrogance of brutality, anti-women, and oppression, but woe to you from the day when this great historical force is liberated and flows into the arena of struggle. Then you will see these liberated women burning your reactionary bloodline.

You mullahs have made this choice with your crimes and anti-women, and you will inevitably be swept off the stage of history by the hands of the liberated women of Iran.”

These are the words she spoke 27 years ago, and we are now seeing objective evidence of them on the streets of Iran. This prediction comes from a deep understanding of the status of Iranian women. Accordingly, Iranian women will not accept anything less than the change of this fascist regime.
