obel Peace Prize 2025: Sisi or Trump? By: Mustafa Kamal Al-Amir

Will the world witness a major surprise when Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi wins the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, the first time since the late President Anwar Sadat won it in 1979?
Sisi has succeeded in averting the outbreak of four devastating wars and has worked tirelessly for many years to mediate between Israel and the Palestinian resistance, seeking to make peace in the land of peace. Therefore, many see his nomination for this award as a natural merit since he assumed the presidency of Egypt in 2014.
On the other hand, the name of former US President Donald Trump looms large, as he has long sparked controversy with his aggressive policies and colonial mentality. He changed the name of the US Department of Defense to the "Department of War," ignited crises with Venezuela and Iran, and expressed ambitions for Greenland and the Panama Canal.
He also built a wall with Mexico and spoke of annexing wealthy Canada to the United States. Most seriously, he has pushed for the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, seeking to end the dream of an independent Palestinian state.
Despite all this, Trump also aspires to win the Nobel Peace Prize! Indeed, his strong candidacy raises concerns about a historic scandal if he wins, despite having blocked six Security Council resolutions calling for an end to the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, which has lasted for more than 714 days.
Israel's Arrogance Under American Cover
Israel's regional aggression continues under American cover. It bombed Doha for the first time, after previously targeting Tehran, Sana'a, Damascus, and Beirut. This bombing turned Qatar into an arena for settling scores and proved that small alliances protect no one.
In contrast, Egypt remains the only major Arab country in the Middle East that has not allowed foreign military bases, while small countries like Qatar and Bahrain have become hubs for American and European bases.
The Need for an Arab-Islamic Alliance
Today, more than four decades after the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty, the debate is renewed about the need to amend or cancel it. The emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha in 2025 confirmed this need, with serious calls for the establishment of an Arab-Islamic military alliance. Indeed, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan announced a joint defense agreement, and naval maneuvers between Egypt and Turkey resumed after a 12-year hiatus.
Gaza: An Icon of Steadfastness
History will immortalize the steadfastness of Gaza and its heroes, who resisted the killing machine for 750 days despite the weapons and billions of dollars spent by America and Europe, while Arab capitals crumbled under bombardment.
But Cairo remains steadfast, impervious to conspiracies, like the pyramids, which do not bend before the storms of time.

Long live Egypt
