There is a famous saying from the late African sage, Nelson Mandela, “I am wandering between two worlds, one dead and the other unable to be born.” And there is nowhere between them yet to rest my head.” This sentence may sum up the situation of the Arab immigrant to the West on a long and arduous journey far from the roots of the homeland Who is now living the loss of his dreams and his darkest days after the strikes of international terrorism in Europe 2015 and America on September 11, 2001 And the role of Western media in always accusing Arabs and Muslims of terrorism Here we are talking about Arab immigration to the West It is difficult to accurately determine the timing of the start of the Arab migration to the West However, it started over a hundred years ago It started from the Levant, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine (Coinciding with the return of the Jews of the world to Israel As if it was an organized process of exchanging homelands and losing Palestine) They also migrated from Yemen by sea After they immigrated individuals and groups in search of a better life and settled in the Americas in the north and south and completely integrated into their countries there until they reached the fifth generation of them A number of them achieved great success there, and they even succeeded in reaching the presidency in some countries, for example: Carlos Menem in Argentina, Abdullah Karam, Rene Moawad in Ecuador and Michel Temer, President of Brazil. There were also creative writers Such as poets Elia Abu Madi and Gibran Khalil Gibran and the famous Colombian singer “Shakira”, who is of Lebanese origin. And the late American, “Steve Jobs,” known for developing the iPhone by the American company Apple, is of Syrian origin. His father was called Abdel Fattah Jandali, and his mother was of Swiss origin. It is strange that his mother became pregnant by a Syrian, and the Swiss mother’s family (Johann Carol Shaiba) refused her marriage to him, so the mother had to Searching for a family to adopt her child, so the American Paul Reynolds Jobs adopted him, hence his name. There is also "Carlos Ghosn", the former president of Renault-Nissan, the largest car manufacturer, who is of Lebanese origin The Mexican is of Lebanese origin, "Carlos Selim", who was considered one of the richest people in the world, as well as the Egyptian millionaire "Mohamed Al-Fayed" in Britain and others that are difficult to count and narrow in the article and position. These are some examples, but the success of all these is not a general phenomenon for the vast majority of Arab immigrants. The European continent witnessed a wave of immigration after the end of World War II, especially in light of its need for cheap labor to rebuild and build Europe in the reconstruction program called the American “Marshall Plan” after the destruction that many European cities witnessed during the World War, so they brought workers From Southern Europe (Spain, Italy, Greece and Portugal) And also from some Arab countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and other former European colonies in Asia and Africa It is historically mentioned that Europe had asked President Gamal Abdel Nasser to use Egyptian labor to rebuild it after the war But he totally refused. Perhaps he was right at the time, because Egypt, throughout its history, has never expelled its sons since the father of the prophets Abraham, Joseph and Moses. Rather, large numbers of immigrants came to Egypt fleeing the war in Europe, in addition to large numbers of Greeks, Turks, Armenians, Levans, Sudanese and Moroccans. But the cycle of time has pushed the Egyptian in recent years to work in the Gulf, Jordan, Iraq, Libya and even migrate west to America and Europe. We return to Western Europe, after it was reconstructed and reconstructed after the war and the situation improved in its south, the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese immigrants returned to their country Moroccans and Turks remain in it with their culture, mosques and markets, and from here the racist right-wing currents appeared in all of Europe, such as the Pegida movement in Germany, Marian Le Pen in France, Jörg Haider in Austria and the Flemish Bloc in Belgium and in the Netherlands (Hans Janmath, Pim Forten, Hersey and Wilders) And some of those racist parties succeeded in reaching to participate in the government Through a single slogan: hatred of Islam and Muslims, and pro-Israel This is because the Europeans felt the guilt complex towards the Jews during the Second World War But it was the Arabs who paid the price A big question now appears about the future of Arab immigration in Europe, because the situation of Arab immigrants now is not ideal. For example, in the Netherlands, the proportion of Muslims to the population is close to 6%. But their percentage in prisons is more than 60%!!! The same is the case in France, Spain, Italy and Belgium This is a major imbalance that the ministries of immigration, religious scholars and sociology must fix with practical steps.
Our problem is that we talk a lot and do nothing to convey our voice and our strength to benefit tens of millions of immigrant Muslims in the West. Especially in France, which has the largest Muslim community in Europe Britain is also from Pakistan, India, Asia and Africa, Then Germany, where there are millions of Muslim Turks, This is in addition to Spain, Italy and Belgium, which have a very large Maghreb presence. That is why we must organize our ranks in order to define the new horizon for cooperation to form a pressure group similar to “AIPAC” by organizing a periodic meeting to consult and exchange visions and experiences and to put pressure on political decision-makers, especially in Brussels, the new capital of Europe and its beating heart because of the presence of the headquarters of NATO and the European Union with its bodies. Let us be optimistic that the number of immigrant children of the new generations has begun to increase in universities and higher institutes, and to excel in prestigious and influential professions, and in the fields of art and sports as well. The most famous of them is Zinedine Zidane and many others who have achieved distinguished successes. To be brief, the Arab emigration began first with manpower in what is known as the crank migration to build Europe, and then with brains and university scientific competencies in what is called the brain drain. And the end of the huge Arab money and capital that is currently running the wheel of the economy in the world
Especially in America and Europe even buying bankrupt football clubs, Without the real benefit of the Arabs from mobilizing the best of these resources and energies to serve our mother country, Other than being just a major petroleum fuel station in the new world After it was the headquarters and lighthouse of the ancient world In conclusion, I ask an important question that needs a real, honest answer Who benefits from Arab immigration to the West? Their country of origin or the country of emigration?
