Many are those who closely knew the late leader, the captive and liberator Major General Qadri Abu Bakr, whether he was at the beginning of his commando work when he was a young boy, at the beginning of the Palestinian revolution, or during his seventeen-year captivity, in the prisons of the occupation, or during his work in the institutions of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority Patriotism, the last of which was the leadership of the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, but with great humility, I knew him during his two-time visit to Brussels, accompanied by evacuation fighter brothers who were also prisoners in the occupation prisons, and they are Abdel Nasser Farwana and Thaer Shuraih.
Brother Abu Fadi and his colleagues came to explain the issue of the prisoners, their suffering, and their demands for freedom to public opinion makers in Belgium and Europe, from prominent officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to members of Parliament from all political blocs supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people to members of the Solidarity Movement, the Bar Association, and members of the Palestinian and Arab community.
I had the honor of accompanying him and translating for him into French, as a representative of the Palestinian Embassy in Belhaika, along with the brothers Imad Badawi and Hamdan Al-Dameiri, officials of the Palestinian community in Belgium.
Major General Qadri and his colleagues were continuing the day and night of meetings and explaining the reality of the prisoners without getting tired or bored.
Labofadi had an influential and smooth style of narrating human details of live stories about the prisoners, each story the way he told it, fit a subject for a movie or a novel.
During his stay in Brussels, Abu Fadi's mobile phone did not stop ringing, receiving phone calls from prisoners and their families, and he gave every call its right to listen and follow up.
May God have mercy on him, a loyal symbol of our contemporary Palestinian revolution.
