Noisy New Year's Eve 2025 Celebrations in Amsterdam .. By the writer Mustafa Kamal Al-Amir

All the cities of the world, west and east, north and south, witnessed massive musical celebrations, and also in the major cities of the Netherlands, Rotterdam and the political capital The Hague, with Amsterdam, the largest city in the Netherlands, witnessed huge celebrations of Christmas and New Year's with pine trees hung with Christmas decorations with the legendary Santa Claus doll associated with Christmas or Christmas in the West. As Pope Francis V, the Pope of the Vatican, the Supreme Pontiff of Catholicism, said about it, it has nothing to do with Christianity and is just a legend and an ancient Roman custom that tells of a large, plump man with a white beard and mustache, with his red suit and black shoes, coming from the cold, icy northern countries on his wooden cart pulled by wild polar deer in order to distribute gifts to children and fulfill their good wishes. As evidence of this, Orthodox Christians in the East, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, along with Russia and Greece, "do not celebrate" Santa Claus on Christmas annually in the West at the end of the year, which precedes the East by about two weeks, and Christmas is celebrated on January 7, the beginning of the Gregorian year. Celebrations are Christmas in the Netherlands is one of the most prominent occasions that combine Dutch traditions and a distinctive festive atmosphere. The Christmas school holiday in the Netherlands starts from December 21, 2024 and lasts until January 5, 2025, allowing families enough time to enjoy the celebrations and family gatherings.

On December 25, known as "Kerstmas", families gather to exchange gifts and eat special meals, such as "Gourmetten", where food is cooked directly at the table with the whole family participating. Special masses are also held in churches to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Streets, buildings and shopping malls are decorated with Christmas lights and decorations, and Christmas trees are erected in public squares, which creates an atmosphere of joy and happiness for citizens and tourists. Christmas markets are held in different cities, where gifts and traditional foods are displayed, and artistic and musical performances are presented.
In Amsterdam, Museum Square and Dam Square are the most prominent places to celebrate New Year's Eve, where light shows and concerts attract thousands of revelers. There are also cruises in the canals, allowing participants to enjoy the festive atmosphere from a different perspective.

This period is an opportunity for everyone, regardless of their cultural backgrounds, to gather and celebrate the values of love and solidarity,
which makes Christmas in the Netherlands a special occasion that reflects the cultural diversity and festive spirit of the country.

Finally, we start every year with beautiful good wishes for ourselves, children, husbands, wives, friends, family, and our homelands and countries that are dear to our hearts. But this year we will break this rule and leave our wishes from our previous years to God alone, who is able to fulfill our postponed dreams in the future and the coming days with the sunrise that rises first in Japan and sets in America, passing through Asia, Africa, Europe and the central "rift" that is currently inhabited by evil spirits that the East and West expel in their celebrations by launching rockets and fireworks
